07 Sep Why you should regularly change your passwords and enable 2Factor Authentication
At the end of August a massive list of compromised email accounts were located on the internet.
This list contains email addresses known to have been used in sending spam and have been obtained from poorly secured online services – you might want to check the list?
This article prompted me to check my own email addresses and I can say that yes, my email addresses were listed!!!
So I started the process of locking down my 2 personal emails, personal payroll and leave system, password manager and social media services – essentially my online life.
I changed all passwords and enabled 2 Factor Authentication using a secondary authentication method via a free Android App.
Now, I have an annoying system where logging into an online system relies on me having to get my phone from the next room – but I am confident my personal information online is as safe as I can make it.
